The Hartville Thrift Shoppe, located at 938 W. Maple St., Hartville, Ohio, is an independent non-profit organization, governed by a Board of Directors  from local area churches .  We are a part of a network of thrift shops who support the mission of the Mennonite Central Committee, and our financial contributions provide valuable resources to both our local and global community.

GerOur donors divert items from landfills by donating them to our store. Our volunteers and staff receive, process and present these donations for sale enabling us to offer quality items at an affordable price to our customers.

Our store is staffed largely by volunteers which minimizes expenses and enables us to donate more to MCC where the store’s donations are used to support relief, development and peace around the world.

Our Mission

To financially support the mission of Mennonite Central Committee through the dedication of volunteers and staff by taking quality donations and making them available at an affordable price.

About MCC

Our Core Values

Peace & Justice  *  Community  *  Service  *  Stewardship

We have a people-first focus and we value our staff, our volunteers, our customers, our donors, and believe that each is to be treated with respect and dignity. We are committed to a safe and comfortable environment where all will feel welcome and accepted. We strive to cultivate a friendly, healthy, and calm atmosphere.

We are rooted in Hartville  and value our role as a local thrift store. This sense of community colors our decision-making, from the way we treat staff, volunteers and donors, to the way we handle the donated items we are entrusted with and the sales we receive.

Service is our calling and we believe it is better to give than to receive. We would love to have you join us! Browse these pages to learn more about volunteering  or donating.
